Snoepmonster for Sinterklaas is the same monster, now for the Dutch present evening on 5 December. Not a new story. A different coat: Sinterklaas, a shoe by the door, and a chorus a group can sing.
Play it when the shoe is already there and the children want to move. A calm arrival song is a good start. This track is for the moment after that, when the party is allowed to get louder.
When do you play it?
It fits a Sinterklaas celebration at school, after-school care or at home. Think of children from about 6 to 12. Younger children often want the shoe moment first, and join the dance for a shorter bit.
Three places it works:
- After the poem or the surprise, when the energy may rise for a minute.
- At school, between two Sinterklaas songs people already know. Not as the only song of the afternoon.
- At home, just before the presents. One loud singalong, then the shoe.

Present evening is already full. An extra monster should not jump out at anyone. Say what it is: the sweet monster is visiting, and it sings along. Children who would rather watch stay next to the shoe. That is a fine place.
