Listen and join the dance
Hi Ha Halloween is my Halloween song for singing and moving together. Play a short section first so the children can hear what it sounds like.
Ways to join in
- Start in your own space. Move gently to the beat and make a funny monster face during the chorus.
- In the zombie section, try holding your arms forward and taking small, slow steps. The Dutch lyrics describe the movements.
- For the werewolf, make claws with your hands. Add a quiet wolf howl if you like. Small movements count too: you can join in with your hands from a chair.
- Finish with your own monster pose. Have a laugh, then move on to the next song.
These are playful suggestions, not compulsory choreography. Children who prefer to watch or just sing are equally welcome.
When to play the song
Use it as a short sing-along once the group has settled in. Listen beforehand to decide whether the words and monster theme suit your children. Keep enough light for everyone to see each other and make the spooky part a game.
